Project Zwena is a collaborative movement aimed at making change through creative expression and global exploration. It is a newly formed organization in the process of filing for 501(c)(3) status (thanks to the assistance of a group of lawyers at Stroock, Stroock, and Lavan). Currently the organization is raising funds to film and produce Sounds of the Sahara, Project Zwena's pilot endeavor.

Sounds of the Sahara will tell the story of a diverse caravan on an exploratory journey. The film will begin in Africa as the filmmaker returns to the desert to reconnect with a group of young Tuareg, Berber, and Bedouin percussionists (see desert gallery). It will then document their collective journey to the U.S. as these creative nomads leave the Sahara for the first time. The camera will follow these passionate and expressive people as they cross cultures and connect with youth and communities, in intimate settings, on a tour throughout the United States.
